The price of Russian natural gas for Ukraine in the second quarter of the year will be $236 per 1,000 cubic meters, including a 30% discount, a Gazprom executive said on Wednesday.
"It will be $236 with the discount; without the discount it would have been $336. It is a big discount," deputy CEO Valery Golubev said.
He also said there would be no intermediaries in gas deliveries to Ukraine, stressing Gazprom had direct contracts with Ukraine's Naftogaz.
In return for the 30% discount on Russian natural gas, which is worth an estimated $40 billion, Kiev has agreed to extend the lease on a Russian naval base in the Ukrainian port of Sevastopol for 25 years.
