The number of people injured in a blast in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Dagestan on Thursday increased from seven to 17, a police spokesman said.
A Lada Priora car exploded near a police station killing two police officers when they stopped it to inspect driver's documents.
"According to new information, 17 people were wounded. Six of them are police officers and 11 are civilians, including a child," the spokesman said.
Russia has been fighting militants in the North Caucasus for almost two decades, including two brutal wars against separatists in Chechnya.
