More than 4,500 shells will be fired during the fireworks show that will last 15 minutes, compared to10 minutes last year, and will consist of 30 rounds,” Colonel Vyacheslav Paradnikov, commander of the 449th Detached Fireworks Division of the Moscow Military District, told journalists.
The show will feature 72 fireworks machines and 18 mortars that will be installed at 14 separate locations in Moscow. Most of the machines will be installed on the Poklonnaya Hill and Vorobyovy Gory, a popular lookout point, the military say.
The fireworks will include more than ten shell types of the newest variety. Depending on the caliber, they will explode at heights of 100 to 300 meters. The Tricolor shell will be one of the brightest ones in the show and will paint the capital’s sky in the colors of the Russian national flag.
