Visitors to the Russian pavilion at Expo-2010 in Shanghai on May 9 will see a live broadcast of the military parade on Red Square, the Russian Industry and Trade Minister said on Saturday
"Our next memorable date is May 9. And we will celebrate this holiday with special attention," Viktor Khristenko said at a press conference organized by RIA Novosti, adding that live parades from other regions of Russia would also be broadcast in the pavilion.
The Russian pavilion, which opened earlier on Saturday, will also host celebrations of National Day (September 28), Children's Day (June 1) and a number of other holidays.
Organizers expect some 350,000 visitors on the first day of the exhibition.
The two-hour opening ceremony of Expo-2010 was held on Friday and ended with fireworks, allegedly more spectacular than those set off during the opening ceremony of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
The 2010 World Expo is held in Shanghai from May 1 to October 31, 2010. Up to 70 million people are expected to visit the city for the event, which has seen investment of up to $4 billion.
