Firefighting robots, mobile firefighters’ crews on motorcycles and other modern means of saving people and extinguishing fires were tested at the Emergency Situations Ministry’s National Research Institute for Fire Protection in Balashikha, the Moscow Region.
One the latest developments tested was a mobile rescuers’ complex. Motorcycles with flashers and the necessary equipment will allow firefighters to quickly get to an emergency site and rescue people.
The tests also featured a mobile robotized water-mist fire extinguishing vehicle. It looks like a Caterpillar tractor with a turbojet that creates a special fire extinguishing formula. The vehicle features remote control and has a range of 500 meters. It is designed to replace firefighters at major emergencies, especially, at oil, natural gas or ammunition depot fires.
