Four people were injured and about 180 trapped underground following a methane explosion at West Siberia's Raspadskaya coal mine on Saturday, an emergencies ministry officer said.
Yelena Kalabushkina said the explosion occurred at 8:55 p.m. Moscow time (16:55 GMT).
There were 312 people in the mine at the moment of the blast with 137 subsequently raised to the surface.
