Two people were killed, four injured and about 120 were trapped underground following a methane explosion at West Siberia's Raspadskaya coalmine on Saturday, an emergencies ministry officer said.
Yelena Kalabushkina said the explosion occurred at 8:55 p.m. Moscow time (16:55 GMT).
There were 312 people in the mine at the moment of the blast.
