At least three people were killed during clashes in the southern Kyrgyz city of Jalal-Abad, an interim government source said on Friday.
Clashes broke out on Friday in the southern Kyrgyz city of Jalal-Abad between supporters of deposed President Kurmanbek Bakiyev and backers of the interim government.
The source said around 400 Bakiyev supporters had occupied the administrative building in Jalal-Abad.
Witnesses said the administrative building is surrounded by backers of the interim government. Around 1,500 people have gathered on the square and more keep arriving.
Shots are being fired into the air and there have been reports that Bakiyev's supporters are armed with a grenade launcher.
