Italy hopes a decision on exchanging secret information needed for combating terrorism will be made during the forthcoming Russia-EU summit in Rostov-on-Don, Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said on Thursday.
"Russia and Europe must be ready to make a decision on secret information exchange in Rostov," Frattini said at a press conference.
"This exchange will provide a much better improvement in cooperation in the fight against terrorism. Russia is absolutely essential for supporting global security," he added.
The Russia-EU summit will be held in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don on May 31-June 1.
