On the same day the Russian President familiarized himself with the operation of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant. Medvedev’s visit began with the standard visitors’ procedure: putting on a coat and protective footwear.

That day Dmitry Medvedev also visited the Strela (Arrow) rowing club, on Krestovsky Island, and took part in the Presidential Rowing Cup awards ceremony.
Then the Russian President headed to the Zenit-Arena football stadium, which is under construction. The stadium is being built on Krestovsky Island, St. Petersburg.
St. Petersburg’s Governor, Valentina Matviyenko, showed him around the stadium. The Russian president was presented with a white-blue scarf in the presence of famous Zenit fans - actor Sergei Migitsko and singer Alexander Rosenbaum.
Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller in turn told the president that modern infrastructure, including several parking lots, will surround the stadium. He mentioned that they would retain the old Kirov entrance, which is currently under reconstruction.
Dmitry Medvedev spent the final part of his weekend at the Mariinsky Theatre, where there was a performance of the ballet “The Nutcracker”.
