Natural gas production in Russia in 2010 is expected to grow 10.7% year-on-year to 646 billion cubic meters, according to a government forecast published on Friday.

 Natural gas production in Russia in 2010 is expected to grow 10.7% year-on-year to 646 billion cubic meters, according to a government forecast published on Friday.

It said gas exports should grow 22.1% to 205.7 bcm.

In 2011, gas production is to grow to 655 bcm and to 676 bcm in 2013, while exports will be 207.9 bcm and 211.6 bcm, respectively.

Russian gas exports will continue to be affected by Central Asian gas exports to Europe.

According to the Russian Energy Ministry, gas production in 2009 fell 12.4% year on year to 582.3 bcm, but in the first five months of the current year it was up 21.5% to 289.1 bcm.

During this period, gas monopoly Gazprom raised output 21% to 228.58 bcm.

In 2009, Gazrpom's production fell 16% to 461.4 bcm. It 2010, it plans to raise output 14.7% to 529 bcm.
