Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held an informal meeting Friday in the governmental residence in Meseberg and strolled in the park.
Medvedev arrived in Germany for a two-day visit earlier on Friday. He is to discuss international issues with Merkel.
A Kremlin source said earlier that Medvedev and Merkel will discuss practical issues of the agenda of the upcoming G8 and G20 summits, which will be held in Canada on June 25-27.
The source said the two sides would also discuss international issues, including nuclear disarmament and arms control, as well as Iran's nuclear program and peace efforts in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
Medvedev said earlier his visit would also address bilateral cooperation in the economic and humanitarian spheres.
The two sides will also discuss ties between Russia and the European Union following this week's summit in southern Russia where the two sides made progress on their Partnership for Modernization.
Russian-German ties have strengthened in the last few years as Russia looks to expand cooperation with individual EU states alongside with Russian-EU relations.
