One man died and one was injured in an incident at a powder mill in the Russian city of Tambov 300 miles southeast of Moscow, a police spokesman told RIA Novosti by phone on Sunday.
"Powder pressing equipment got depressurized at 4:30 a.m. There was no explosion or fire," the spokesman said.
It was not immediately clear what exactly killed the powder mill worker.
The injured man was taken to intensive care, the spokesman said, adding that there is "no threat to the population" following the incident.
An investigation is underway.
