On Tuesday, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev visited the Levkovo children’s summer camp in Moscow region. The president talked to children, asked them how they spent their vacations and gave them advice.

Medvedev told the children that he had attended a summer camp only once but it had left him with happy memories.

Medvedev said his son had never been to a summer camp but he really wanted to. “Bring him here!” shouted the kids. “He is too old; he is 15 already,” the president replied.

Dmitry Medvedev asked the children to tell him how they spent their time at the summer camp. He asked whether they ate fruit and meat every day, what they did in the evenings, if they sang songs and if they missed school.

After examining several buildings the president went to the dining hall, where the younger children were having lunch. The children gave him a pastry and some fruit juice.

After visiting the camp, Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting on children’s summer camps. He forbade the reduction of funds for this socially important issue in all regions.
