Russian President Dmitry Medvedev orders humanitarian aid sent to south Kyrgyzstan, which was hit by the inter-ethnic riots, a presidential spokeswoman Natalia Timakova said on Saturday.
The fighting, between Kyrgyz and ethnic Uzbek groups, began in the country's second largest city of Osh on Thursday night and continued late on Friday. Over 60 people died, hundreds were injured.
Timakova said Medvedev was aware of the situation in Kyrgyzstan and the appeals sent to him.
"Currently the consultations are held with the various governmental bodies over the aid to Kyrgyzstan, Timakova said, adding the emergencies ministry's plane was ready to take off.
She said the president had also ordered to evacuate the injured and provide them with the necessary medicine.
