An annual conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) opened on Monday in Vienna's Hofburg Congress Center.
Discussions will focus on transnational threats and challenges, the OSCE's role in preventing and settling conflicts and post-conflict restoration. Armaments control, the situation in Afghanistan and regional stability are also on the agenda.
According to the OSCE website, the Annual Security Review Conference (ASRC) was established by the 2002 OSCE Ministerial Council in Porto "to enhance security dialogue among OSCE participating States and review the OSCE's security work."
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko leads the Russian delegation, which comprises representatives from the Foreign Ministry, Defense Ministry, the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Federal Drug Control Service.
The conference will end on June 16.
