The premier talked to the test pilot, Sergei Bogdan, right.
“This will be a jet which will surpass our main rival, the F-22 Raptor (U.S. fifth-generation fighter aircraft) in maneuverability, armament and distance,” Putin said. “And fighting spirit,” the pilot added. “First and foremost,” the premier laughed.
Then Vladimir Putin headed for the fighter and climbed into the cockpit. Pilot Sergei Bogdan explained in detail to the prime minister the features of the jet and drew his attention in particular to the system which allows the pilot to control the aircraft’s main systems by just holding the stick.
This is very important when the pilot is exposed to G-forces, he said.
