An aircraft was dispatched on Monday to take over a hundred of people to the Russian Far East after their Tu-204 plane made an emergency landing in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg., an airline spokesman said.
A passenger Tu-204 plane en route from Moscow to the Far Eastern city of Blagoveshchensk had to perform an emergency landing late on Monday due to an engine malfunction. The plane of the Vladivostok Avia air carrier had 116 people, including 11 children, onboard.
"The plane is scheduled to take off at 7:30 Yekaterinburg time [1:30 GMT]," the source said.
This is the second emergency landing performed by a Vladivostok Avia plane in less than a week. On June 15 a Vladivostok-bound plane with 243 people onboard also performed an emergency landing in Yekaterinburg.
A special commission was set up to investigate the cause of the mishap.
