Russia's Alexander Povetkin (19-0, 14 KOs) said he is glad to fight IBF and WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 28 KOs), FightNews.com reported on Wednesday.

"I am very happy that the fight will take place. I must say it's very good to prepare for the most important fight in my life!" Povetkin was quoted as saying.

The website said the fight between the 34-year-old Ukrainian boxing legend and the 30-year-old Russian, a mandatory challenger for the IBF heavyweight title, would likely be held on September 18 in the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt, Germany, but the date is still to be confirmed.

The deal on the bout was reached on Tuesday, with the fight to be staged by Klitschko's K2 Promotions company, which offered a $8.313 million purse. Povetkin's Sauerland Events bid $4.250 million.

The Commerzbank Arena is a 55,000-seat football stadium and home to the Bundesliga's Eintracht Frankfurt.

Povetkin was supposed to challenge Klitschko on December 13, 2008, but withdrew from the fight due to a leg injury some two months before the fight.
