Russian pianist Mikhail Pletnev arrived in Moscow on Thursday from Thailand where he has been accused of child sex abuse.

"I hope that current events will not affect my concert activities, although I will have to return to Thailand to take part in court hearings," Pletnev said.

He said he could not recall such a buzz around his name, saying none of his shows had drawn so much media attention before.

"When the police conducted a search of my house for the first time, nothing was found. Later I learnt from the Internet that I was accused of distributing pornography and prostitution, that I committed a rape. But I am against violence," the Russian pianist said.

Mikhail Pletnev gave a news conference in RIA Novosti on the day of his arrival in Moscow.

Mikhail Pletnev said that he never had any problems with law enforcement agencies in Thailand, nor in any other country.

“I can directly say that I have always been against violence of all kinds, especially in respect to children. I believe that violence is a terrible thing. I can not imagine myself as a rapist" the musician said.

Pletnev suggested that perhaps the allegations were the work of his personal enemies or enemies of his orchestra. But still he promised to return to Thailand. "After the tour I'm going back there again to complete this matter, I hope that Thai justice will rise to the occasion," Pletnev said.
