The lower house of the Russian parliament, the State Duma, completed its spring session on Friday and took a summer recess.
According to Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov, the MPs have approved 249 new laws during the spring session, which is an all-time record for the lower house.
He warned the MPs, however, that work during the fall session would be just as intensive.
"Even now there are more than 560 bills pending in committees, 86 of them subject to priority consideration," he said.
