Eight people were killed on Sunday when a bus crashed on the Trans-Caucasus highway in the republic of South Ossetia, an emergencies ministry spokeswoman in the Russian republic of North Ossetia said.
"Rescuers arrived at the site from North Ossetia, and, according to preliminary data, they reported 16 wounded and eight killed," Yulia Starchenko said.
North Ossetia's Emergency Situations Ministry said earlier that the bus went off a cliff near the Roki Tunnel, which connects Russia's North Ossetia with the former Georgian republic of South Ossetia.
