The long-awaited new project from the U.S. aerospace giant, Boeing, has at last landed in the United Kingdom to become a hit at the Farnborough International Airshow 2010.
The Boeing-787 Dreamliner is made of composite materials. The environmentally friendly airliner seating up to 300 passengers is designed for long-range flights. Despite repeated delays in going operational, it is now the fastest selling airliner in history. The company has already received over 860 orders from 56 airlines. The first planes are expected to reach customers and begin regular flights at the end of the year.
This year the Farnborough airshow is held between July 19 and 25. As many as 1,350 participants from 52 countries have been invited to show their civilian and military wares. Russia is represented by 59 organizations.
