Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor will come to Moscow as a Sports Envoy as part of an exchange conducted under the U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission.
A delegation of ten boys and ten girls, ages 14-18, will travel to Russia for two weeks from August 6 under the same exchange program. The teenagers will take part in volleyball clinics with Russian youth and cultural excursions in Moscow. Then they will go to the town of Anapa on the Black Sea coast.
Misty May-Treanor will join the delegation for part of the Moscow program; she will hold several beach volleyball clinics for the young athletes.
This will be the first group of American young athletes to travel under the SportsUnited program. Earlier a group of Russian basketball players went to the United States under the program where they played basketball with President Barack Obama.
