Russian President Dmitry Medvedev expressed his condolences to India’s leaders over recent floods in the north of the country, the Kremlin said on Friday.
At least 115 people have died in flash floods in the Ladakh region of Indian-administered Kashmir, officials say.
“At this difficult time I would like to express the deepest condolences to you and the entire Indian nation,” Medvedev said in a telegram to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Pratibha Patil.
The army has been called in to help deal with the floods, which have also injured some 300 people.
