Russia's Kazan helicopter plant expects to increase sales by one-third to 20 billion rubles ($654 mln) year-on-year in 2010, the plant's general director said on Thursday.
The plant, which is part of the Russian Helicopters holding, posted annual sales of 15 billion rubles ($491 mln) and net profit of 1.5 billion rubles ($49 million) in 2009. The plant produced 79 and sold 65 helicopters last year.
"We are expecting to receive 19- 20 billion rubles in revenues and sell at least 80 helicopters in 2010," Vadim Ligay told reporters at a trade show in Kazan.
He said the company's 2011 order portfolio was full, and it was taking orders for the next three years.
"By 2015 we are planning increase our revenues to at least 25-30 billion rubles [$817 - 980 million]," Ligay said, adding that it would require the production of up to 90 helicopters annually.
The Kazan Helicopter Plant is well known worldwide as the manufacturer of the Mi-8/17 family of helicopters. The company occupies 17percent of the global turbine helicopter market.
