Russia will send a supplementary $10 million in humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan, a Foreign Ministry source told RIA Novosti on Friday.

Russia will send a supplementary $10 million in humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan, a Foreign Ministry source told RIA Novosti on Friday.

"Russia issued a $20 mln grant to the Kyrgyz government in May. A decision has been made to send an additional $10 million," the source said.

He added that a $30 million concessional loan to help stabilize the economic situation in the ex-Soviet republic after recent riots had also being discussed.

Russia sent a total of 400 tons of humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan in April-July, including food, medical supplies and tents. Moscow also plans to supply Bishkek with 20,000 metric tons of diesel fuel by the end of September.

Violent clashes between ethnic Kyrgyz and minority Uzbek groups in southern Kyrgyzstan broke out in the city of Osh on June 11 and spread to the neighboring Jalalabad region. The official death toll is over 200, but officials say actual figures could be up to ten times higher.
