Two people were injured after a private light plane crashed near Almaty, the largest city of Kazakhstan, the local emergencies ministry said.
The two-seat and single-engine aircraft, RV-6, plunged during a training flight from approximately 3-5 meters (9-16 feet) in the Ili River, to the north of the former capital of the country.
A 48-year-old owner of the plane, who piloted the aircraft during the accident, and his 47-year-old instructor were immediately hospitalized after the crash.
The ministry did not specify the cause of the accident.
