The Moscow International Automobile Show opened on August 25. The show, one of the world’s largest, will last until September 5 and present eight international, seven European, and 62 Russian premiers.

On the opening day, AvtoVaz showed the long-awaited Lada car based on the platform of the French automaker Renault. This is the seven-seated budget Lada R90. Its series production is planned to be launched in spring 2012.

Besides, the Russian auto giant has presented Lada Priora, a SE version sedan with a built-in GLONASS navigation system, new front bumper (which has been modernized according to European safety rules), additional turn indicators on the side view mirrors, an electronic gas pedal and ISOFIX safety locks for child seats. The GLONASS navigation system will be also installed on the Lada Kalina.

The Ulyanovsk plant has presented the all-terrain vehicle UAZ-469.

Porsche arrived in Moscow with its international premier of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

The Infinity Essence car, presented at the third Moscow International Auto Show is called by specialists “one of the most elegant concepts of late.”

The Japanese have also brought to Moscow the Infiniti M37 vehicle, which is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and has the maximum speed of 250 km/h.

The news that Citroen will launch the production of its GT class concept was announced last year. Citroen decided to assemble six such vehicles, each worth some 1.3 mln euros.
