At least 42 people were killed and 12 received serious injuries in a bus accident in central Ecuador, the TeleSUR TV channel reported on Monday citing the local Red Cross branch (CRE).
Six children are among those killed.
The TV channel quoted Silvia Zumba, a police spokesman in the provincial capital Latacunga, as saying that the bus "drove off the lane and overturned."
The tragedy occurred on Sunday in the province of Cotopaxi, 95 kilometers south of the capital Quito as the driver has apparently fallen asleep.
