First half net profits at Russia's dairy giant Wimm-Bill-Dann rose by 7.1 percent year-on-year to $69.5 million to US GAAP, the company said on Thursday.

First half net profits at Russia's dairy giant Wimm-Bill-Dann rose by 7.1 percent year-on-year to $69.5 million to US GAAP, the company said on Thursday.

From January-June, revenues rose 17.1 percent to $1.255 billion, the company said.

Wimm-Bill-Dann's EBITDA grew 0.9 percent year-on-year to $159.7 million, while EBITDA margin fell to 12.7 percent from 14.8 percent year-on-year.

The company's gross profit rose 3.4 percent to $375.8 million, while gross margin fell to 29.9 percent from 33.9 percent year-on-year.

Wimm-Bill-Dann's operating profit in January-June fell 5.4 percent year-on-year to $105.8 million.

The company's net profit in the second quarter fell 31.5 percent year-on-year to $35.9 million, while revenues rose 15.3 percent to $639.8 million.

The company's EBITDA in the second quarter rose 1.2 percent quarter-on-quarter to $86.2 million, while EBITDA margin fell to 13.5 percent from 15.4 percent year-on-year.

The company's gross profit rose in April-June 4.3 percent to $203.7 million, while gross profit margin fell to 31.8 percent from 35.2 percent year-on-year.

Wimm-Bill-Dann's operating profit in the second quarter amounted to $58.5 million, increasing 4.8 percent year-on-year.

The company holds about 33 percent of the Russian dairy and beverages market.
