The premier drove 2,165 kilometers on the new Khabarovsk-Chita highway and learnt that some 500 kilometers of the road are to be rebuilt. Before donating the car, the premier autographed it.
AvtoVAZ said that no construction changes in the car were made especially for the premier’s trip. The car in which Putin traveled was not changed during the premier’s trip although two more yellow Lada Kalina Sport cars also made the journey as part of the prime minister’s covnoy.
One of the cars will be donated to the Transport Ministry to be presented to a road construction veteran worker, and the second will go back to AvtoVAZ to be presented to a veteran plant worker.
The Lada Kalina Sport is a low-volume car made by AvtoVAZ since 2008 in two versions: with a 1.4-liter engine (90 bhp) and with a 1.6-liter engine (98 bhp). The AvtoVAZ stand of the Moscow International Auto Show displays the more powerful model.
