Latvia's Last Party that intends to run in the country's parliamentary elections on October 2 has put forward a foam bear as its candidate, the party's chairman said Tuesday.
"The Last Party has nominated the Bear of Happiness, a character from [Latvian writer] Andrejs Upits' play, for the post of prime minister," Gints Knoks told journalists.
Party representatives made a two-meter figure of the bear and hope voters will support him.
The Latvian Central Election Commission has not commented on the nomination yet.
