The Russian government will restrain growth in some state-monopoly tariffs in 2011 even more tightly than in 2010, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.
"To ease the financial burden on households and business, to support a dynamic economic recovery, we will continue restraining tariff growth in 2011. It should be a stricter policy than in 2011," Putin told a government budget commission.
The government sets caps on tariffs for railway services, electricity, and gas and fixed-line telephone services.
