Taiwan saw a wedding rush on September 9 as 163 couples lined up to marry in a mass ceremony this day, the Associated Press reported. At 9:09 a.m. local time the brides and grooms exchanged rings and kissed simultaneously.
99 years ago the Republic of China (ROC), commonly known as Taiwan, proclaimed its independence. The combination of so many nines became the main factor for choosing this day to organize the mass wedding ceremony.
