Russia's People's Artist Sergei Andriyaka will teach fifteen prisoners the first principles of watercolor painting during a video linkup on Wednesday, Russia's Federal Penitentiary Service's (FSIN) press office said.
Andriyaka, 53, is a famous Russian watercolor painter. His works are devoted to Russia's nature and provincial towns. Andriyaka also runs a watercolor school for children and adults.
The painter will hold his workshop in the FSIN Communications Center, and the convicts will remain in their places of detention.
"Art education is obligatory for all the participants of the workshop," FSIN said in a statement.
Andriyaka's art school will send the convicts professional watercolor paint, brushes, pencils and paper.
This is not the first charity campaign organized by the FSIN and Andriyaka. A similar watercolor master class was held three years ago.
