At least 33 people survived Monday's passenger plane crash near Ciudad Guayana in southeastern Venezuela, a state television reported on Tuesday.

The television also reported citing a statement from Francisco Rangel Gomez, the governor of the State of Bolivar, that the bodies of 14 people have so far been recovered from the scene of the accident.

There is still no concrete information on the number of people that were on board the plane during the crash. Venezuela's AVN state information agency reported that the plane carried between 43 and 47 passengers and four crew members, while the state television and the Universal newspaper report about 47 passengers and four crew members.

The ATR-42 plane of the state-owned air carrier Conviasa fell shortly after taking off from the Manuel Carlos Piar Airport in Ciudad Guayana, in the State of Bolivar. It fell some 10 km (six miles) from the nearby city of Puerto Ordaz, on the premises of the state-run Sidor steel corporation.
