Russia's opposition parties and movements are establishing a coalition for the 2011 parliamentary elections and want to nominate a single candidate for the 2012 presidential elections, a source in the coalition said.
"Representatives of four democratic organizations have decided to establish a coalition to subsequently attempt to register a party for the parliamentary elections," the source said.
Leading opposition figures Boris Nemtsov, Mikhail Kasyanov, Vladimir Ryzhkov, Sergei Aleksashenko and Ilya Yashin will form the coalition's organizing committee.
"Then we want to hold a united democratic congress to nominate one candidate for the presidency," the source said.
