Over 400 players from 21 teams flocked to the small town of Bronnitsy, near Moscow on Thursday for the four-day Russian national championships. Most of the players are in their early 20s and have travelled here from cities in western Russia, the Urals, Belarus and Ukraine to take part in the tournament.
