Legendary British musician Sting played in Moscow’s Crocus City Hall on Wednesday, in his first ever Russian performance. 16.09.2010, Sputnik International
The equipment for the unique show was conveyed to Moscow by almost 100 staff members in 11 trucks. Besides the lighting and sound equipment, the singer’s management brought a stage specially constructed for the concert.
Musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra came to Moscow to perform with Sting. Sting greeted the audience in Russian: “Spasibo Moskva, dobry vecher!” (Thank you Moscow, good evening!)
Sting performed his song Russians, which was composed in 1985 during the Cold War. “We share the same biology, regardless of ideology. Believe me when I say to you I hope the Russians love their children too.”
The entire performance was projected onto three giant hovering screens.
