Swedes go to the polls on Sunday in a parliamentary election, in which the center-right coalition is expected to win narrowly.

The far right, which blames Muslim immigration for many of the country's ills is also expected to win seats in parliament for the first time and hold the balance of power.

The government alliance of the Center, Liberals, the Moderates and Christian Democrats has led opinion polls lately but their lead is so narrow that their clear victory in the general election is far from certain.

If neither the ruling alliance nor the opposition represented by the former communist Left Party, the Greens and the Social Democrats wins a majority of seats in parliament, then the anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats could clear the four percent electoral threshold and hold the balance of power.
