Two Taiwan tourists were wounded when unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire near the main mosque in the Indian capital, NDTV reported on Sunday.
The incident occurred at about 11:00-11:30 a.m. local time on Sunday near Gate No. 3 of the Jama Masjid when two assailants wearing raincoats and helmets fired indiscriminately using 38 caliber rounds, the TV channel reported.
"Our constables ran after them. A Red Alert has been issued in Delhi," Joint Commissioner of Police Karnail Singh told the TV channel.
According to eyewitnesses, the men on the motorcycle attacked a tourist bus, the TV channel said.
The two tourists were hospitalized, their condition was not immediately known, the TV channel said.
