Maritime-university cadets from Arkhangelsk and Kaliningrad have been trained aboard the ship, as have cadets from Murmansk Technical University, which owns the vessel.
On the first day of their stay, ship cadets played a match against the local mining town’s football team. After that local residents, who can still remember the Sedov’s visit in summer 2006, attended an improvised concert aboard the ship.
On setting sail from Svalbard, the Sedov charted a course home: to Murmansk.
