A flu vaccination campaign has kicked off in Russia, the country's chief sanitary doctor said.
More than 28.1 million adults and children will be vaccinated against influenza, Gennady Onishchenko said, adding that 42 Russian regions are involved in the campaign.
Onishchenko said that the situation with flu and respiratory infections is calm at the moment, but warned that mass flu outbreaks could erupt should prevention measures not be taken.
Flu and cold outbreaks often occur in fall.
