Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez will visit Russia on October 14-15, the Kremlin reported Friday.
Earlier on Friday, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev discussed bilateral cooperation with Chavez over the phone before the forthcoming visit.
Chavez' visit to the Russian capital - his ninth - will be part of his international tour, which will also reportedly include Belarus, Ukraine and Iran.
The outspoken Venezuelan leader last visited Russia in September 2009, when he announced that his country had officially recognized the independence of the former Georgian republics of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
