Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Sobyanin is most likely to receive the position of Moscow's new mayor, political experts told RIA Novosti.
United Russia on Saturday proposed Sobyanin, as well as Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor Valery Shantsev, Transport Minister Igor Levitin, and First Deputy Mayor of Moscow Lyudmila Shvetsova as the four leading candidates for the position of Moscow's mayor.
"Sobyanin's rank is the highest among the other members. Such person is unlikely to be included to the list [of candidates] at random. That's why I place the priority on him," political expert Vitaly Ivanov said.
Sobyanin and Shantsev are the leading candidates, political expert Dmitry Orlov said, adding that Sobyanin has more chance.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev announced that all four candidates were capable of heading the capital.
