Net profit of Russia's large independent oil and gas producer Itera increased by 43 percent to $159 million in 2009 to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the company said on Tuesday.
Natural gas sales decreased by 50 percent to $1.18 billion, while net sales of gas also fell by 50 percent to $1.13 billion, the company said in a statement.
Gross margin fell by 60 percent to $294.4 million, while operating profit decreased by 120 percent to $148.56 million. Pre-tax profit increased by 27 percent to $198.9 million.
Operating expenses grew by 5.7 percent to $148.8 million, the statement said.
