KRASNODAR, October 16 (RIA Novosti) - At least seven died and another seven are missing after a flooding caused by excessive rains in several residential areas in Russia's southern Krasnodar Territory, a local emergency ministry said.
Earlier reports said that nine people were killed.
About 300 people were evacuated. Local authorities imposed an emergency status in the area.
The number of natural disasters in the world may double during the next 10 to 15 years, the head of WWF Russia's climate program Alexei Kokorin said on Wednesday.
Climate change will lead to a growth in a power and a number of hazardous meteorological events in the world, Kokorin said.
