CSKA Moscow beat Terek Grozny 3-0 on Sunday afternoon to record their first ever win in the Chechen capital.

 

CSKA Moscow beat Terek Grozny 3-0 on Sunday afternoon to record their first ever win in the Chechen capital.

The visitors took the lead in the 18th minute, Ivory Coast forward Seydou Doumbia heading home from a corner. 

Brazilian striker Vagner Love doubled CSKA’s lead with 14 minutes remaining, shooting home from just outside the box.

Japanese World Cup star Keisuke Honda capped a great afternoon for CSKA with a headed goal in injury time.

CSKA remain two points behind Rubin in third place, but have played two less games. Rubin beat Rostov 2-1 at home on Saturday.

Zenit St. Petersburg, still unbeaten this season, are six points clear of Ruin in first place, having played two games less than the 2008 and 2009 champions.

In other news, Spartak Moscow’s Brazilian star Alex will miss the club’s Champions League clash with Chelsea in the Russian capital on Tuesday after picking up an injury in a 3-0 win over Alaniya on Friday.
