Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight has cleared the way for chicken meat imported from the United States by 18 out of 33 inspected companies, it said on Monday.
These are preliminary results of inspections held from October 4 through October 16, the service said in a statement.
"All 18 companies will be recommended for inclusion into the list of companies authorized to import meat to Russia," the service said.
The first U.S. poultry consignments after an eight-month pause following Russia's request of chlorine-free treatment of meat were supplied to Russia in September.
